Can a coffee machine’s vibrations help protect critical infrastructure?

We think so – and right now research is underway to test the idea in practice. The focus is on resilient edge systems for critical infrastructure, with vibration data as test cases. No sound, no video, and no personal information is collected.

As part of Project Area 1 in the RESCUE project, everyone who has a coffee at RISE Research Institutes of Sweden Computer Science department has the opportunity to contribute to training the AI model – the vibrations from the coffee machine become part of the training data.
